BASOHLI, JAN 11: Vishwasthali organization commenced its grand celebration of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti in Basohli, marking the National Youth Day with enthusiasm and cultural fervor on Saturday. Over 300 students from schools across Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur, and Pathankot are participating in the multi-day event.
The celebrations feature a diverse range of activities, including symposiums, quizzes, essay and poetry competitions, folk and light vocal music performances, and a unique mix of dance and theatrical acts. A special segment, Vivek Prashasti, along with exhibitions of the famous Basohli paintings, has been scheduled to highlight the cultural heritage and teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
The event’s opening day saw a mesmerizing theatrical performance by Samooh Theatre, which staged a play on the life of Swami Vivekananda. Directed by renowned researcher and dramatist Sudhir Mahajan, the play, sponsored by the J&K Cultural Academy, captivated the audience and received widespread appreciation.
The celebration was graced by DDC Chairman Kathua, Mahan Singh, as the chief guest, while Akash Bhagat, State President of Youth Congress, attended as the guest of honor. Both dignitaries lauded the efforts of Vishwasthali for organizing such an enriching event to inspire and engage the youth.
