Two Oil tankers met with separate accidents at different locations at Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on the intervening night of dec 17-18 in Ramban district of Jammu.
The National Highway wing of Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police informed that two Oil Tankers turned turtled at separate spots in mountainous district of Ramban in Jammu Region.
According to the information, the first Oil Tanker met with an accident when moving towards Kashmir and later another oil tanker bearing Reg No JK02AS/4415 going towards Srinagar also turned turtle in down tube. “Regulation is underway at flyover Ramban and heavy motor vehicles were stopped in Udhampur and Qazigund for the time being during the night,” informed the sources in traffic police.
The traffic cops added that tanker which had turned turtle in uptube on Ramban flyover has been removed & dust is being sprayed to slippery surface after which the vehicles will be allowed in this Uptube while the LMVS are being regulated in down tube where other tanker has turned turtle.
The second oil tanker was removed after following security protocol in the afternoon and later after spraying sand on road’s slippery surface the traffic was allowed to move.
