JAMMU, NOV 28: In a concerted effort to ensure public safety, the Traffic Police of Jammu launched a special drive on Thursday targeting traffic violators across various locations in the city.
As per the police handout issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, during the drive, traffic police teams seized 36 e-rickshaws, 12 two-wheelers, and two school vans for violations under the Motor Vehicles (MV) Act.
The release reads that the initiative aimed to reinforce adherence to traffic regulations and promote road safety. The general public has been advised to strictly follow traffic rules and carry valid driving licenses to avoid penalties. Drivers of auto-rickshaws were specifically cautioned against overcharging passengers and reminded to carry valid documents at all times.
The Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic City Jammu, emphasized that similar drives will continue in the future. Motorists tampering with or concealing number plates were warned to desist from such activities or face stringent legal action.
