Jammu, Feb 10:
In a vibrant push to keep the Dogra heritage alive, the Uttam Magotra Folk Studio has officially released its latest musical venture, “Chatni Timbru Di.” The song, which premiered on the studio’s official YouTube channel, is already making waves among folk enthusiasts for its seamless blend of traditional soul and contemporary flair.
A Powerhouse Collaboration
The project brings together some of the finest talents in the Dogri art circuit. While the song features soulful vocals from various renowned folk singers, the creative backbone of the track rests on:
-
Original Composition: Sh. Brij Mohan
-
Lyrics: Dr. Anil Mahajan
-
Music Arrangement: Sahil Nath
By infusing Sh. Brij Mohan’s classic composition with Sahil Nath’s modern musical arrangement, the track manages to appeal to both the nostalgic older generation and the tech-savvy youth.
Visual Splendor at Dogra Residency
The official launch took place at the Dogra Residency, hosted by Smt. Renu Hemraj Dogra, a well-known patron of the arts. The event was a star-studded gathering of Udhampur’s cultural icons, including: Suresh Kumar (Renowned Dogri Singer), Sudesh Sultanpuri (National Youth Awardee), Neeraj Sharma (Famous Poet), Sandeep Ji (Apna Dogri Channel) and Sanjay Budkulia (Singer).
Bringing the Lyrics to Life
The music video, directed by Aryan (AARV Productions) and captured by cinematographer Varun Singh, features lead performances by Sarvaghya Saana and Renu Sharma Saana.
The rhythmic energy of the song is heightened by a dance troupe choreographed by Deep Kumar and Tamanna Dhiman, featuring a talented ensemble including Aaryahi Abrol, Jyoti Sharma, and others.
“Our goal is to preserve the Dogri folk heritage and present it in a format that resonates with the younger generation,” said Uttam Magotra during the launch. “We want our culture to be visually appealing and digitally accessible.”
The Verdict
“Chatni Timbru Di” is more than just a song; it is a cultural statement. By leveraging digital platforms like YouTube, Magotra and his team are ensuring that the flavors of Dogri land—much like the Timbru chutney itself—reach kitchens and hearts far beyond the borders of Jammu.
