Three Terrorist Associates Arrested

KULGAM, JAN 09: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), in coordination with the Indian Army’s 1RR and 1Para (SF) and the CRPF’s 18 Battalion on Thursdat  apprehended three terrorist associates linked to the proscribed outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)/The Resistance Front (TRF).

As per the statement issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, the arrest follows investigations under FIR Number 02/2025 registered at Qaimoh police station under sections 13, 18, and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

The arrested individuals have been identified as Ubaid Khursheed, son of Khursheed Ahmad Mir; Maqsood Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohd Ramzan Bhat; and Umer Bashir, son of Bashir Ahmad Dar—all residents of Thokerpora, Qaimoh in Kulgam district.

A substantial cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from their possession, including: Two AK-series rifles, Eight AK-series magazines, 217 AK rounds, Five hand grenades and Two magazine pouches.

Authorities revealed that the trio maintained close contact with active terrorists of the LeT/TRF and were allegedly planning to execute major terrorist activities in the Kulgam district.

This operation highlights the relentless efforts of Kulgam Police and security forces to combat anti-national elements and thwart potential threats. Police have appealed to the general public for actionable inputs regarding any suspicious activities, assuring swift and lawful action against such elements.
