REASI, MAR 11: Three people, including a child, lost their lives, and nine others sustained injuries after a tempo skidded off the road and plunged into a 200-meter-deep nallah near Ziyarat Morh in Mahore area of Reasi district on Tuesday.
The accident occurred when a tempo (JK20C-4351) traveling from Jammu to Mahore lost control and rolled down into the gorge. Local volunteers, police, and rescue teams rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to the hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Rajesh Singh (26) of Bagankote, a child named Zoya from Mahore, and Raj Kour, wife of Punjab Singh from Malikote, Tehsil Chassana.
The nine injured include:
- Sandoor Singh (25), son of Challan Singh, resident of Bagankote, Tehsil Chassana
- Pankaj Singh (22), son of Karishan Singh, resident of Bagankote, Tehsil Chassana
- Surat Singh (32), son of Kamal Singh
- Saleema Bano, daughter of Kushi Mohammad, resident of Ganjote, Mahore
- Nasib Singh (28), son of Chamil Singh, resident of Bagankote, Tehsil Chassana
- Abdul Rashid (46)
- Priya Devi, daughter of Bhim Singh, resident of Bagankote, Tehsil Chassana
- Zarina Bano, daughter of an unidentified person, resident of Mahore
- Kalyan Singh, son of Chamail Singh, resident of Dandakote, Tehsil Chassana
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. Further details are awaited.
