SRINAGAR, DEC 25: Cyber Police, the unit of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) on Wednesday warned social media influencers and Youtubers to refrain from promoting betting apps, Fraudulent investments schemes.
Taking on to micro-blogging platform X, the Cyber Police Kashmir said, “First Digital Arrest Scam in Kashmir Busted! Cyber Police Kashmir cracks a ₹21 lakh fraud. Scammers posed as TRAI & CBI officials, using fake arrest warrants to dupe a senior citizen. 3 arrested, ₹4 lakh recovered.
Cyber Police Kashmir is closely monitoring these activities. Strict legal action will be taken against anyone found advertising or endorsing such fraudulent platforms. Stay responsible. Report suspicious activities to us, reads the post.
It further added, “Attention Social Media Influencers & YouTubers: Refrain from promoting betting apps, fraudulent investment schemes, or fake work-from-home job offers. Such actions not only mislead the public but are also punishable under the law.”
