REASI, MAR 11: In a swift action, Reasi Police on Tuesday successfully solved a theft case, arrested the accused, and recovered the stolen property, reaffirming its commitment to curbing crime in the district.
As per the statement issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, The case came to light on March 8, 2025, when Sanjay Kumar, son of Krishan Lal, a resident of Talwara, lodged a complaint regarding the theft of tyres from his shop in Talwara. Acting promptly, the police registered a case under FIR No. 40/2025 U/S 303(2) BNS at Police Station Reasi and launched an investigation.
With the help of technical inputs and relentless efforts, police apprehended the accused, identified as Sanjay Kumar, son of Vakeelu, a resident of Goswan Gran More, Reasi. During interrogation, he confessed to his involvement in the theft, leading to the recovery of the stolen tyres.
The operation was spearheaded by SHO Police Station Reasi, Inspector Ranjeet Singh Rao, under the close supervision of DySP Headquarters Reasi, Vishal Singh Jamwal, and overall guidance of Addl. SP Reasi, Iftkhar Ahmed, JKPS.
SSP Reasi, Paramvir Singh, JKPS, stated that further investigation is underway to ascertain any possible connections of the accused with other theft cases in the district. He also indicated that more arrests and recoveries could follow as the probe progresses.
