BANDIPORA, MAR 04: In an effort to educate the public about the newly enacted Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam 2023, the police on Tuesday organized a mass awareness programme at Police Station Sumbal in Bandipora.
The event was graced by DIG NKR Baramulla, Maqsood-ul-Zaman (IPS), as the Chief Guest, alongside SSP Bandipora, Harmeet Singh Mehta (JKPS), and other senior police officers. The programme witnessed significant participation from the general public, civil society members, and youth of the Sumbal subdivision.
Addressing the gathering, DIG NKR emphasized the need to create awareness about the transformative legal reforms, ensuring their positive impact on society, particularly on women and children. He elaborated on the key changes in the new laws, highlighting how they offer enhanced protection to vulnerable groups through special provisions.
SSP Bandipora provided a detailed overview of the three new criminal laws, explaining their role in ensuring citizen protection and transparent, speedy justice. He elaborated on their practical implications, urging the public to familiarize themselves with the updated legal framework to uphold societal order.
