Anti-Drug Awareness Programmes

SAMBA, DEC 10: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) on Tuesday organized anti-drug awareness programmes at Government Middle School (GMS) Sangwal and Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Rahya in Vijaypur, Samba district. The initiatives aimed to educate students about the dangers of drug addiction and foster a drug-free environment in educational institutions.

As per the statement issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, the awareness programmes, conducted under the Civic Action Programme (CAP), were presided over by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Vijaypur, accompanied by the Station House Officer (SHO) of Vijaypur Police Station. A total of 15 students actively participated in the interactive sessions, where they engaged in discussions and activities highlighting the harmful effects of drug abuse.

Participating students were rewarded with school bags and stationery items as a token of appreciation. Additionally, stationery supplies were distributed to all other students at GMS Sangwal to encourage a positive learning atmosphere.

The Principal of GHSS Rahya and the Headmaster of GMS Sangwal expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Police Department for their efforts. They lauded the police’s role in promoting awareness about drug abuse and their contributions to the educational welfare of students. The programmes received widespread appreciation from attendees, including teachers, lecturers, and school management members, who emphasized the need for continued community engagement to address societal challenges.
