Raids in Natipora

SRINAGAR, DEC 06: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) continuing their investigation into case FIR No. 65/2024 under section 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, on Friday conducted a raid in Natipora as part of their ongoing efforts to dismantle a network involved in spreading fabricated and malicious narratives designed to incite unlawful and violent activities.

The focus of the investigation is on individuals engaged in a conspiracy to manufacture and disseminate false information, which aims to provoke violence and disturb public order. Following the acquisition of search warrants from the NIA Court, police carried out a raid at the residence of Abdul Hamid Parry, son of Gulam Mohammad Parry, a resident of Budshah Nagar, Natipora. During this operation, incriminating materials and electronic devices were seized.

Further investigations have identified other suspects connected to this propaganda, and additional searches are planned at their residences in the coming days. Last week, police had already conducted raids in Batamaloo and HMT areas, targeting Obais Riyaz Dar, son of Riyaz Ahmad Dar, a resident of Bonpora Batamaloo, and Sahil Ah Bhat, son of Noor Mohammad, a resident of HMT Zainakot. These individuals were identified as key operatives involved in orchestrating the dissemination of false narratives.

J&K Police have called on the public, especially the youth, to use social media responsibly and remain alert to content that could incite violence. Citizens are urged not to share or upload content that promotes misleading and inciteful narratives, as it may lead to acts of terror and social unrest.
