Police Attaches Properties

SHOPIAN, DEC 05: In a decisive move against terrorism, the police in Shopian have attached two double-storied residential properties under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (UAPA) on Thursday. The action, linked to Case FIR No. 94/2024 of Police Station Zainapora, underscores the authorities’ commitment to neutralizing threats to national security.

As per the statement issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, the attached properties belong to Mohd Shafi Dar, the father of terrorist Adnan Shafi Dar, and Abdul Majeed Koka, the father-in-law of terrorist associate Sajad Ahmad Khah. Mohd Shafi Dar’s property, located in Wandina village, spans 4 marlas (Khasra No. 14), while Abdul Majeed Koka’s property in Melhoora village measures 7 marlas (Khasra No. 1347/min). The combined value of these properties is estimated at ₹50 lakh.

The attachment was executed in the presence of a duly constituted police team and an Executive Magistrate, ensuring adherence to legal protocols. Revenue authorities have updated the relevant entries in their records, and notices prohibiting the sale and transfer of these properties have been served under the provisions of the UAPA.

This measure marks a critical step in the ongoing investigation into unlawful and subversive activities in the region. Authorities emphasize that such actions are aimed at curbing terror activities and reinforcing peace and order. The police reiterated their commitment to combating terrorism and taking all necessary measures to safeguard national security.
