UDHAMPUR, JAN 08: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) on Wednesday have arrested one accused in connection with an attack on a youth at Salathia Chowk, Udhampur, while a hunt is underway for the other culprits.
As per the release issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, the incident occurred earlier today when Sourav Rathore, son of Maan Singh and a resident of Omala, Udhampur, was attacked by unidentified individuals wielding sharp-edged weapons. Upon receiving the information, the police promptly registered an FIR (No. 12/2025) under sections 109/BNS (attempt to murder) and 4/25 of the Arms Act at Police Station Udhampur.
Swift action led to the arrest of one accused, identified as Mohd Arif, son of Abdul Qayoom, and a resident of Chakkar. The police assured that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects involved in the crime.
Udhampur Police reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining law and order, emphasizing that those responsible will be brought to justice soon.
