Theft Gang Busted

JAMMU, FEB 05: Trikuta Nagar Police have arrested three notorious thieves involved in a house burglary and recovered stolen electronic and household items. The action was taken following a complaint filed by Ruby Trikha, wife of Late Major Sandeep Trikha, a resident of House No. 129, Sector-1, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

As per the statement issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, on December 16, 2024, the complainant reported that unknown thieves had stolen several electronic and household items from her residence. Acting on the complaint, an FIR No. 344/2024 under Section 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at Police Station Trikuta Nagar.

A police team, led by the Station House Officer (SHO) of Trikuta Nagar under the supervision of the SDPO City East Jammu and SP City South Jammu, launched an investigation and apprehended three suspects:

1. Azad, son of Shivan Mahto, resident of Narola, Delhi, District Shiv Nagar, originally from Monogra, Bihar, presently residing in Sector 5, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
2. Suresh Anuragi, son of Bashu Anuragi, resident of Bijwara Nakka, District Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, presently residing in Sector 4, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
3. Dhashrat Ahirwar, son of Dharamdash Ahirwar, resident of Moora Bhaman Dunra, District Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, presently residing in Sector 1 Extension, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

During questioning, the accused confessed to the theft and disclosed the stolen items, which included:

– 03 HP Gas Cylinders
– 01 Samsung LCD
– 01 Refrigerator
– 01 Luminous Inverter
– 01 Exide Inverter Battery
– Other household items

Based on their disclosure, the stolen items were recovered. The police have intensified their investigation to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases. Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to prevent such incidents in the future.
