CHENANI (UDHAMPUR), MAR 01: In a firm crackdown on drug menace, Udhampur Police has arrested a notorious drug peddler under Preventive Detention provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act (PIT NDPS) on Saturday.
As per the statement issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, Musharaf alias Ramboo, son of Mh Arif, a resident of Ward No. 4, Chenani was an accused has been booked under the PIT NDPS, as per Order No. PITNDPS 06 of 2025, dated 25.02.2025.
Musharaf has been actively involved in drug peddling, posing a serious threat to public safety by luring local youth into substance abuse. His repeated involvement in illegal drug trade has led to multiple cases being registered against him in Udhampur district.
The police have reiterated their commitment to eradicating drug trafficking from the region and ensuring a drug-free society. Authorities have urged locals to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to narcotics.
