In a stirring display of military tradition and national pride, the Northern Command Investiture Ceremony 2026 was held today at the Dhruva Auditorium. The event served as a powerful tribute to the “Always in Combat” spirit of the Indian Army’s most operationally active command.
The Ceremony of Excellence
Presided over by Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, GOC-in-C Northern Command, the ceremony recognized the extraordinary bravery and selfless dedication of soldiers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty.
A total of 93 awards were presented, honoring both individual acts of gallantry and collective unit excellence.

The ceremony took a somber yet proud turn with the presentation of the Jeevan Raksha Padak (Posthumous), a reminder of the ultimate sacrifice made by our braves in the line of duty. Family members of the awardees were in attendance, receiving the honors on behalf of their loved ones amidst a standing ovation from military officials and dignitaries.

The Army Commander emphasized that Northern Command remains at the forefront of safeguarding national security, dealing resolutely with both conventional warfare and new-age hybrid threats. He urged all ranks to maintain the highest standards of operational excellence that the Indian Army is globally renowned for.
