JAMMU, MAR 11: Jammu Police arrested a man in Akhnoor after recovering 3 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession during a naka checking near the old bridge area.
As per the Police handout to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, the accused, identified as Mukesh Sharma alias Gulabu, son of Ramesh Kumar, resident of Majoor Kanah, Tehsil Chowki Choura, District Jammu, attempted to evade the naka party upon noticing police presence. However, the alert personnel intercepted him and, upon searching, recovered the contraband.
Following the seizure, the accused was taken into custody, and a case under FIR No. 44/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Akhnoor. Further investigation is underway to ascertain possible links to drug networks.
