DODA, JAN 07: The Cyber Crime Investigation Unit (CCIU) of Doda Police, under the directions of SSP Doda Sandeep Mehta on Wednesday organized a Cyber Awareness Day at 10 RR Headquarters in Doda to educate army personnel and locals about cybercrimes and online frauds.
As per the release issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, the event saw significant participation from army jawans and local residents. PSI Ankush Nagra, Incharge CCIU Doda, delivered an informative lecture highlighting the various tactics employed by fraudsters, including credit card frauds, OTP scams, QR code frauds, online gaming scams, and fake loan assurances.
Participants were also educated on the importance of safeguarding their social media accounts and exercising caution while interacting with unknown individuals on platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Twitter. The attendees were encouraged to utilize the cybercrime portal and report any suspicious activities.
This initiative is part of J&K Police’s ongoing efforts to increase public awareness of cybercrimes and online fraud. Such programs aim to empower people to protect themselves from falling victim to fraudsters’ schemes.
