Jammu, Sept 10: The Jammu Police has intensified beat-level policing and public coordination in South Zone, with SP South Jammu reviewing the implementation of the “Know Your Beat Officer” initiative during a meeting held at District Police Lines (DPL), Jammu.
The meeting was attended by SDPO South, SDPO East and all Beat Officers of South Zone.
The initiative aims to strengthen direct communication between residents and police personnel through dedicated WhatsApp groups, enabling citizens to easily contact their respective Beat Officers and share information related to suspicious activities and other law-and-order concerns.
During the meeting, SP South Jammu directed Beat Officers to remain accessible and responsive to the public and encouraged residents to promptly share information regarding suspicious persons, tenants, outsiders and other security-related issues in their respective areas.
Several key policing and security measures were also reviewed, including 100% tenant verification, maintenance of updated beat-wise tenant records and thorough verification of domestic helpers, drivers and other outsiders.
The SP further stressed the need for intensified night patrolling and naka checking at vulnerable locations, along with greater public awareness regarding cybercrime and the relevant helpline numbers for timely reporting.
At the conclusion of the meeting, SP South Jammu directed all officers to ensure effective implementation of the “Know Your Beat Officer” initiative and strict compliance with the measures discussed.
The general public was also urged to cooperate with the Police and immediately report any suspicious activity or information to their respective Beat Officer to help maintain peace, security and law and order across South Zone, Jammu.
