JAMMU, FEB 28: A two-day capacity-building program on “Emerging Technologies” concluded successfully in Jammu, reaffirming the government’s commitment to technological empowerment and digital transformation in Jammu and Kashmir.
The conference was held under the guidance of Minister for Science and Technology, Information Technology, Youth Services and Sports, ARI and Trainings, Satish Sharma. Speaking on the occasion, the minister emphasized the significance of embracing emerging technologies to enhance public service delivery and governance. “As we progress into the advanced digital era, it is essential that our officers are equipped with the knowledge and skills to harness emerging technologies for the benefit of our citizens,” he stated.
Reiterating the government’s focus on capacity building, Sharma highlighted that the training program is part of broader efforts to prepare the workforce for the ongoing digital transformation.
Commissioner Secretary, IT Department, Saurabh Bhagat, assured that more such training programs would be conducted to accelerate digital advancements in J&K. He also acknowledged the contributions of Deputy Secretary, IT Department, who served as the nodal officer for the initiative.
The event was jointly organized by the IT Department of Jammu and Kashmir and the Wadhwani Group, a not-for-profit tech organization working at the intersection of technology and governance. It was the first-of-its-kind initiative aimed at equipping senior government officers with insights into cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Blockchain, and IoT.
Over 65 senior JKAS officers from various government departments participated in the training, which included keynote addresses, interactive workshops, and hands-on sessions led by Prakash Kumar, CEO of Wadhwani Group.
