JAMMU, NOV 29: The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Jammu, organized an insightful book discussion on “I Am Shiva” by Prof. (Dr.) Raj Nehru, Vice Chancellor of Shri Vishwakarma Skill University, on Friday.
As per release The Newsroom 24 – Awaz received that the event witnessed participation from students of English Journalism, Hindi Journalism, and Digital Media, under the guidance of IIMC Jammu’s Regional Director, Dr. Dilip Kumar.
Dr. Nehru explored the philosophical tenets of Shaivism during the session, emphasizing self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and the harmony between the astral, emotional, and physical selves. Drawing from ancient Sanskrit texts like Prativigya Hridyam by Acharya Khemraj, he explained the essence of ultimate consciousness, symbolized by Shiva as the unity of awareness. He highlighted how living in the moment and embracing witnessing consciousness can unlock creative potential.
The event commenced with a warm welcome by moderators Anuja Jain and Saloni Sharma, followed by an introduction to the guest speaker by Pranav Shukla from the Digital Media department. Associate Professor Vishv delivered the welcome address, and Dr. Ravia Gupta, Assistant Professor, described the book as “the need of the hour,” emphasizing its relevance to contemporary challenges.
The session also featured a dynamic Q&A segment, where Dr. Nehru addressed queries from students regarding self-awareness and daily life practices. The discussion provided a platform for exploring the intersections of philosophy, spirituality, and personal development.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Dilip Kumar, who expressed appreciation for the guest speaker, faculty, and participants. Faculty members, including Prof. Anil Saumitra, Dr. Vinit Utpal, Dr. Ravia Gupta, Rajiv, Gulshan Kumar, and Madhusudan, also attended the session, enriching the event with their presence.
