JAMMU, JAN 14: The Domana Police Station on Tuesday successfully solved a hit-and-run case involving the tragic death of a motorcyclist at Muthi NHW on January 3, 2024.

As per the statement issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, the victim, identified as Abhineet Revo, son of Paran Nath Revo, a resident of Ward No. 09, Kamleshwar Colony, Akhnoor, lost his life on the spot after being hit by an unidentified vehicle.

The driver of the offending vehicle fled the scene immediately after the accident, leaving the deceased at the location. The body was later shifted to GMC by local residents. Acting swiftly, the police registered a case (FIR No. 03/2025) under relevant sections of the law at Domana Police Station.

During the investigation, a special police team led by SHO Domana, Inspector Rajeshwar Singh, utilized CCTV footage from multiple locations and advanced technical assistance to trace the vehicle and the accused. The driver, identified as Saleem Ahmed, son of Abdul Rehman, a resident of Sanasar, Tehsil Batote, District Ramban, currently residing in Patoli Brahmana, Jammu, has been arrested.

The vehicle involved in the incident, a Tipper (407 load carrier) bearing registration number JK02BH/9527, has also been seized. Further investigations are underway to complete the case.
