KATHUA, MAR 04: A five-day training programme on the newly enacted criminal laws—Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA)—concluded on Tuesday at the Conference Hall, District Police Lines (DPL) Kathua. The programme, organized by J&K Police Kathua, commenced on February 28 and aimed at familiarizing police officers and officials with the new legal framework.

As per the statement issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, the training session was attended by 77 officers and officials from Kathua Police, Traffic Police, and CID. Master trainers from J&K Police Kathua led the sessions, while special lectures were delivered by Gazetted Police Officers and the Senior Prosecuting Officer from the District Police Office (DPO) Kathua.

The training covered key aspects of the new laws, which have replaced the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), and the Indian Evidence Act. The sessions aimed to equip law enforcement personnel with an in-depth understanding of the revised legal provisions and their implications.

The programme was coordinated by DySP Headquarters Kathua, Ravinder Singh (Nodal Officer), and conducted under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, Sh. Shobhit Saksena, IPS.
