SRINAGAR, FEB 20: Minister of Education, Sakeena Itoo on Thursday paid a surprise visit to several Class XII examination centers in Pulwama and Anantnag districts to review the arrangements and facilities provided to students.

As per the statement issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, the Minister inspected centers at Syed Mantaqi Higher Secondary School Awantipora and Islamia Hanafia Waqf Higher Secondary School Anantnag, where she interacted with students to assess the quality of the examination environment.

Extending her best wishes to the students, Sakeena Itoo emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring the welfare and academic success of every student in Jammu and Kashmir. “The government is serious about the welfare of students, as seen in the swift resolution of recent student concerns,” she stated, referring to the overnight solutions provided to address challenges faced by students ahead of the exams.

Highlighting the government’s proactive approach towards education, the Minister noted, “We won’t let even a single moment of the students be wasted. The decision to change the academic session soon after the government took office reflects our dedication to improving the education system.”

Sakeena Itoo also expressed concern over exam-related stress among students and directed the examination staff to maintain a calm and supportive environment at the centers, while adhering to set guidelines.

She lauded the efforts of the Director School Education Kashmir, Director School Education Jammu, and the Board of School Education for organizing the examinations on schedule, despite the challenges posed by the recent academic session changes.

Reassuring parents, the Minister affirmed, “The education sector is among the top priorities of the present government, and we are taking every possible step to elevate it to new heights.”

The Minister was accompanied by Director School Education Kashmir, Dr. G.N. Itoo, along with other senior officials from the department during the inspection.
