DODA, FEB 24: The District Administration Doda on Monday organized an interactive session and Q&A on “Advance Preparedness of Natural, Contemporary, and Anthropogenic Disasters” today at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex. The program aimed to update officials and stakeholders on disaster management strategies and effective response mechanisms.
As per the statement issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, the event was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Ravi Jyee, Vice President and Pro-Vice Chancellor of International University-School of Medicine (IUSOM) and Chairman of the Afro-Eurasian Chamber of Commerce, Education, Development, and Employment (ACCEDE), an authority on disaster management.
Dr. Ravi Jyee delivered a detailed presentation on disaster preparedness, emphasizing the importance of proactive planning, infrastructure development, and community participation. He urged stakeholders to focus on mass awareness campaigns to educate the public about disaster mitigation and preparedness. “Community engagement and strategic planning are essential for effective disaster management and minimizing risks,” Dr. Jyee noted during his address.
The session also facilitated discussions between Dr. Jyee and key officials on strategies for handling natural calamities and other emergencies. Among the prominent attendees were ACR Doda Sunil Bhutyal, Chief Medical Officer Doda, Chief Education Officer Doda, Assistant Director FCS & CA, Assistant Director Fire & Emergency Services, and various other stakeholders.
Key topics discussed included disaster risk reduction strategies, early warning systems, inter-departmental coordination, and emergency response mechanisms. The interactive format encouraged dialogue on improving disaster preparedness and streamlining response protocols.
ACR Doda Sunil Bhutyal expressed gratitude to Dr. Ravi Jyee for sharing his expertise and stressed the importance of collaborative efforts in disaster management. “Strengthening disaster preparedness through inter-departmental coordination, infrastructure development, and public awareness is a top priority for the district administration,” Bhutyal stated. He also reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to enhancing emergency response capabilities to safeguard lives and property in the region.
