Six Road Projects

RAJOURI, MAR 04:  The District Level Committee (DLC) in Rajouri on Tuesday chaired by Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, has approved the diversion of forest land for the construction of six road projects under Section 3(2) of the Forest Rights Act. The decision was taken in a meeting aimed at enhancing rural connectivity in the district.

The approved road projects include:

  • Soom to Kothian Road (Block Kalakote)
  • Bareti to Ambligurah Road (Block Kalakote)
  • Main Road to Kalyoon Abdul Mohalla Road (Block Mougla)
  • Nilla Danda to Langar Road (Block Mougla)
  • Argi Bridge to Patti Galla via Sagote Road (Block Mougla)
  • Tuni Ke Bani to Jandi Matar Road (Block Rajouri)

Following detailed deliberations, the committee approved all six cases, marking a major step towards infrastructure development in remote areas. The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the critical role of these road projects in improving transportation and economic opportunities for rural communities.

The meeting was attended by ADC Kalakote Mohd Tanveer, DFO Rajouri, DFO Nowshera Shewata Deona, CPO Maqsood Ahmed, ACD Vijay Kumar, DSWO Abdul Raheem, EXEN PWD (R&B) Kalakote Aftab Khan, EXEN REW Zahir Khan, and other concerned DLC members. Additionally, DDC Members Sai Abdul Rashid (Rajouri), Abdul Qayoom Mir (Thanamandi), and Anita Thakur (Kalakote) were also present.
