KISHTWAR, MAR 04: Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan on Tuesday conducted an extensive inspection of MGNREGA and Rural Development Department (RDD) works in the Mulchhiter, Rahalthal, and Dadpeth Panchayats of Block Mughalmaidan. The visit focused on reviewing ongoing development projects and ensuring adherence to quality and transparency standards.
During the inspection, cases of false attendance under MGNREGA were detected, prompting the DC to order the immediate suspension of the erring employees. He issued a strict warning to officials, emphasizing the need for vigilance in maintaining genuine attendance records and ensuring the quality of work.
The DC reviewed key infrastructure projects, including soakage pits, tile works, drainage systems, and walking paths developed under MGNREGA. He instructed the Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Kishtwar and the Block Development Officer (BDO) to ensure that all planned projects for FY 2024-25 are completed within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining quality standards.
During interactions with Job Card holders and MGNREGA beneficiaries, the DC inquired about their work experiences, wage payments, and challenges faced under the scheme. He reiterated the government’s commitment to timely wage disbursement and urged workers to actively participate in development initiatives. He assured them that their grievances would be addressed on priority to enhance livelihood opportunities in the region.
The DC was accompanied by ACD Kishtwar Phulail Singh and other RDD officials during the visit.
