JAMMU, FEB 04: BJP General Secretary and Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma has expressed serious concern over the rising crime rate in Jammu, urging Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to take immediate measures to ensure public safety on Tuesday.
During a meeting with the LG, Sharma highlighted the increasing incidents of thefts, murders, and robberies, emphasizing the growing fear among residents. He called for enhanced policing, stricter law enforcement, and effective crime control initiatives to curb the deteriorating law and order situation.
“The people of Jammu and Kashmir deserve a secure environment. Rising crime not only threatens public safety but also impacts tourism and economic development,” Sharma stated. He urged the administration to increase police patrolling, set up special task forces, and deploy advanced surveillance technology like CCTVs to deter criminal activities.
Sharma also raised concerns over the drug menace affecting the youth, advocating for rehabilitation programs, awareness campaigns, and stringent action against drug peddlers.
Reaffirming BJP’s commitment to ensuring a safer and more prosperous Jammu and Kashmir, Sharma urged citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies in maintaining law and order.
