Jammu, September 10: A spiritual atmosphere gripped Baba Sidhgoria Dham in Paloura on Thursday as the 57th Shat Chandi Mahayagya commenced with a traditional Jal/Kalash Yatra, marking the beginning of an eleven-day religious observance at the revered shrine.
A large number of devotees participated in the ceremonial procession, with women carrying decorated Kalash as part of the sacred rituals. The procession began at Baba Sidhgoria Dham and proceeded towards the canal near BSF Paloura, where prescribed rituals were performed before the devotees returned to the Dham.
The nearly two-hour Kalash Yatra set the devotional tone for the Mahayagya and the series of religious programmes scheduled to continue till September 20.
The celebrations are being held under the guidance of Mahant Shri Kuldeep Singh Ji, Paloura Wale. The inaugural day’s programme also featured Mandal Pujan and Yagya, conducted from 9 am to 12 noon, with devotees participating in the rituals and seeking blessings.
A key attraction of the eleven-day celebration will be the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha, which will be delivered by Mahant Shri Dr. Satyanarayan Das Ji Maharaj. The Katha will commence on September 14 and continue till September 20, with daily sessions scheduled from 2 pm to 5 pm.
The programme will also include Hawan Pujan and Sant Samelan, bringing together religious rituals, spiritual discourses and the participation of saints during the annual observance.
According to the organisers, the Mahayagya aims to provide devotees an opportunity to participate in collective worship, listen to spiritual discourses and seek the blessings of saints during the sacred period.
The eleven-day religious programme will conclude on September 20 following the completion of the scheduled rituals and ceremonies.
