Jammu, July 14:
Monu Verma, a social activist, journalist and podcaster from the Chhamb-Khour area of Jammu and Kashmir, has been selected to feature in veteran actor Mukesh Khanna’s popular show, “Mukesh Khanna Ki Baat Aapke Saath.”
Mukesh Khanna, widely known for his iconic roles as Shaktimaan in the television series Shaktimaan and Bhishma Pitamah in Mahabharat, announced the names of selected participants through an official video.
According to Khanna, the special contest received an overwhelming response, with more than five lakh people viewing the announcement and over 5,000 participants expressing their desire to be part of the show through comments. The list of selected participants also included the name “Monu Verma (NGO).”
Khanna further stated that more participants may be selected in the future, depending on the requirements of the show.
Monu Verma is the founder of the Hum Saath-Saath Hain Social Welfare Foundation, an organisation actively engaged in social welfare activities in the Chhamb-Khour region along Jammu’s international border.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Verma and his team assisted several patients in reaching hospitals using their personal vehicles. During Operation Sindoor, the organisation also provided relief material to affected families.
The foundation has been regularly supporting poor and underprivileged families by distributing ration supplies. It has also extended financial and social assistance for the marriages of girls belonging to families in need.
Monu Verma is expected to appear soon alongside veteran actor Mukesh Khanna on “Mukesh Khanna Ki Baat Aapke Saath,” where he will share his experiences in social service and his views with audiences across the country.
His selection has brought recognition to the Chhamb-Khour region and highlighted the social welfare initiatives being undertaken in Jammu’s border areas.
