Jammu, July 10:

The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) on Friday felicitated para archer Payal Nag for winning a bronze medal at the World Archery Para Series 2026 held in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic.

The international tournament was held from June 29 to July 5, 2026.

Payal secured the bronze medal in the Compound Women’s Team event alongside fellow Indian para archer Sheetal Devi. Both athletes have been trained and nurtured at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sports Complex.

The Indian duo delivered an impressive performance while competing against some of the world’s leading para archers, bringing laurels to the country and the Shrine Board.

SMVDSB Chief Executive Officer Sachin Kumar Vaishya felicitated Payal with Mata Ki Chunri and congratulated her on the achievement. He praised her dedication, perseverance and commitment to excellence.

Vaishya described Payal’s success as a matter of immense pride for the nation as well as the Shrine Board. He expressed confidence that she would continue to achieve greater milestones and bring more laurels to the country in the coming years.

The Shrine Board, under the chairmanship of Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, remains committed to promoting sports and nurturing young talent by providing advanced training facilities and opportunities to aspiring athletes.

The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sports Complex is being developed as a Centre of Excellence with modern infrastructure and resources aimed at helping sportspersons compete and succeed at national and international levels.

Payal is now scheduled to represent India in Leg III of the World Archery Para Series, which will be held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, in September 2026. She is also expected to represent the country at the Para Asian Games scheduled to be held in Japan in October 2026.

SMVDSB Additional Chief Executive Officer Alok Kumar Maurya, Joint Chief Executive Officer Satish Kumar Sharma, Assistant Chief Executive Officer Dhruv Gupta, coaches and other Shrine Board officials were also present during the felicitation ceremony.
