KISHTWAR, JAN 05: Tragedy struck in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday as four people lost their lives and two others went missing after a vehicle plunged into a river in the Paddar area, police said.
The incident occurred when the vehicle skidded off the road, rolled down a hill, and fell into the river. Rescue operation is underway to locate the two missing persons including driver of the vehicle.

The deceased have been identified as Raj Kumar (22), son of Panna Lal; Mukash Kumar (29), son of Man Singh; Haqiqat Singh (28), son of Sewa Ram; and Satish Kumar (26), son of Nath Ram, all residents of Garh Padder. The missing individuals have been identified as Ashok Kumar, the driver, and Navrattan, the vehicle owner, both from the same area.
Expressing grief over the tragic incident, Member of Parliament (MP) and Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh extended condolences and wrote on X, “Saddened to learn just now that 4 of the passengers travelling in the vehicle have been found dead on the spot. Two other persons, including the driver, are not traced as yet. My sincere condolences to the bereaved families. Om Shanti.”
