JAMMU, DEC 05: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) on Thursday arrested four (04) notorious drug peddlers, including three women, in the Bishnah area. Under Operation Sanjeevani, the operation led to the recovery of 40.5 grams of heroin and sharp-edged weapons, reaffirming the police’s zero-tolerance policy against drug-related crimes.
The arrested individuals, all residents of Village Chorli, Bishnah, Jammu, have been identified as: Parveen Kumar, also known as Pinna, son of Dev Raj; Rekha Kumari, also known as Kajal, daughter of Anil Kumar; Jyoti Bala, also known as Ramta, wife of Ram Pal and Rashmi Langeh, wife of Sunny Kumar.
The group was reportedly targeting innocent youth, contributing to the rising drug menace in the region. A case has been registered under FIR No. 203/2024 at Police Station Bishnah under relevant sections of the NDPS Act and Arms Act. Investigations are currently underway to uncover the full extent of the network’s operations.
The operation was led by the SHO of Police Station Bishnah, under the supervision of SDPO R.S. Pura and SP Headquarters Jammu. Police have revealed that the arrested individuals were part of a drug distribution network linked to tragic overdoses in the area.
