ANANTNAG, NOV 01: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) in Anantnag on Saturday seized a double-storey residential house belonging to a suspected drug peddler in Poshkreeri, Srigufwara.

As per the release issued here, this action, carried out under Section 68F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, marks a major step in efforts to combat illegal narcotics operations in the region.

The property, valued at over Rs 50 lakhs, is linked to Javid Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Razaq Bhat, a resident of Poshkreeri. Police have confirmed that the attachment is part of an ongoing investigation under FIR No. 58/2024, aimed at disrupting drug networks operating in the area.

A police spokesperson emphasized that such measures serve as a deterrent, warning that individuals engaged in illegal activities will face strict legal repercussions. “Attaching properties linked to drug offenses sends a clear message that we will not tolerate such illegal actions,” the spokesperson said.

The J&K Police has also urged local residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious drug-related activities to the nearest police station, underscoring the importance of community cooperation in tackling the region’s drug menace.
