JAMMU, OCT 31: Devinder Singh Rana, a senior BJP leader and a MLA representing the Nagrota constituency, passed away late tonight on Thursday in a Faridabad hospital after being admitted for the past nine days.
His passing marks a profound loss for Jammu and Kashmir, where he was a prominent advocate for development and regional issues.
Sources told The Newsroom 24 – Awaz that he was in Faridabad since last 9 days along with wife and both daughters. His son was in USA. And he was in Delhi for medical check up after complaining Diarrhea.
Former Chief Minister of J&K and PDP Chief, Mehbooba Mufti in her condolence message shared on X (formerly Twitter) writes, “Shocked to hear about the sudden demise of Devinder Rana ji. Deepest condolences to his family & loved ones.”
Former President JKPCC and MLA Dooru, Ghulam Ahmad Mir writes in his condolence message on Facebook,”Deeply saddened and shocked over the passing of MLA Shri Devender Singh Rana. My heartfelt condolences to family, relatives and friends of the deceased. Having interacted with him in politics and beyond that, Rana was a great, supportive and visionary leader, an entrepreneur, whose business acumen provided opportunities to many in J&K. May God’s grace and strength be upon his family and friends as we mourn this great leader of J&K.”
