JAMMU, OCT 31: In anticipation of Diwali, the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) on Thursday launched an area March across Gandhinagar’s Apsara Road, ensuring a peaceful and secure celebration for residents.
As per the release issued here, the operation, covering residential areas, commercial centers, and public spaces, aimed at preventing criminal activities, maintaining order, and instilling confidence among the community.
Key Initiatives of the Area Domination Drive:
- Intensified Patrolling: Police personnel were out in full force, conducting extensive patrolling to monitor residential and commercial areas.
- Vehicle Checkpoints: Several checkpoints were set up to screen vehicles and individuals, heightening vigilance against suspicious activities.
- Foot Patrols: Officers engaged in foot patrols to connect with the community and address any immediate concerns.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, the Jammu Police Band performed for the community, filling Apsara Road with cheerful tunes that resonated with the Diwali spirit. The performance was a hit among residents, fostering community bonding and enhancing the celebration.
