Prof. (Dr.) D.N. Sharma, Executive Director and CEO of AIIMS Jammu, represented India at the prestigious American Brachytherapy Society (ABS) Annual Conference 2026, held from June 17 to 20 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
The international conference brought together leading experts, researchers and clinicians from across the world to discuss the latest advancements in brachytherapy and radiation oncology. Prof. Sharma was featured in the official conference programme, highlighting his significant contributions to cancer care and radiation oncology.
During the conference, Prof. Sharma delivered an invited lecture titled “Operational Efficiency of a Multi-Site Practice (GYN, Prostate, Others)” as part of the session on efficient resource utilization in cancer care. He shared insights on improving operational efficiency, optimizing oncology services and better resource management alongside renowned international experts.
He also presented his scientific research titled “Doppler Guided Interstitial Brachytherapy for Residual Neck Node Metastases,” showcasing innovative approaches in precision cancer treatment before an international audience of specialists and researchers.
His participation provided an important platform for academic exchange, scientific collaboration and discussions on emerging technologies and best practices in radiation oncology.
