Jammu, Jan 26:

In a vibrant display of camaraderie and professional pride, the office of SP South Jammu hosted a special Republic Day Tea Party today. The event served as a platform to honor the relentless service of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and to celebrate the nation’s 77th Republic Day.

The gathering brought together a wide spectrum of the force, including SDPOs, SHOs, In-charges of Police Posts (ICPPs), and the administrative office staff, reinforcing the spirit of “teamwork over individual effort.”

Honoring Excellence: 2025 Performance Awards

The highlight of the afternoon was a formal felicitation ceremony. SP South Jammu presented appreciation letters to several officers and officials who displayed exemplary dedication throughout the year 2025.

To encourage a culture of efficiency, the office introduced a Subdivision-wise Ranking System for police stations. Certificates of merit were awarded to the best-performing units based on:

  • Crime Control: Effectiveness in investigation and recovery.

  • Law and Order: Maintaining peace in sensitive urban pockets.

  • Public Outreach: Implementation of people-friendly policing initiatives.

A Focus on Families and Professionalism

Addressing the personnel, SP South Jammu extended his greetings not just to the officers, but to their families. He acknowledged that the “unwavering support and sacrifices” of police families are the silent backbone of effective public service.

Key directives from the SP’s address included:

  1. Public Trust: The need to bridge the gap between the police and the citizenry through integrity.

  2. Internal Security: Remaining vigilant against evolving security challenges in the region.

  3. Accountability: Maintaining high standards of discipline within the ranks.

“Our strength lies in our coordination. Whether it is field operations or office administration, every link in the chain must be strong to ensure the safety of Jammu,” the SP stated during the briefing.

The formal proceedings transitioned into an informal tea party, allowing senior officers and junior staff to interact and share experiences. The event concluded with a collective resolve to uphold the values of the Indian Constitution and continue the fight against crime and anti-national elements with renewed vigor.
