Jammu, Feb 5:
In a significant crackdown on street crime, the Pacca Danga Police has successfully recovered stolen jewelry and apprehended two individuals involved in a daylight snatching incident.
The Incident
The case dates back to January 30, 2026, when a formal complaint was lodged by Ansuya Sharma, a resident of Dewana Mandir. According to the report, her gold earrings were snatched during the day, leading to immediate panic in the locality.
Police Action & Recovery
Following the report, the Pacca Danga Police registered FIR No. 05/2026 under Sections 331(4) and 304 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Under the direct command of SHO Pacca Danga, Inspector Rakesh Manni, a specialized team was formed. The operation, led by PSI Shakti Singh (ICPP Chowk Chabutra), utilized local intelligence and tireless tracking to zero in on the suspects.
