Jammu, March 9:

In a significant organizational shift, the Shri Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha has appointed senior journalist and editor Shamsher Singh Charak as its new Working President.

The announcement was made by the Sabha’s Chairman, Retired Justice Pavitra Singh, during a grand ceremony held in Jammu. The event was marked by traditional Rajput honors and a clear roadmap for the community’s future in Jammu and Kashmir.

A Baton Passed with Tradition

During the event, Justice (Retd.) Pavitra Singh expressed his full confidence in Charak’s leadership, stating that the Sabha is poised to reach “new heights” under his guidance. In a symbolic gesture of trust and responsibility, Justice Singh honored Charak by tying a traditional turban (Pagri) and presenting him with a sword, signifying his new role as a protector and advocate for the community’s interests.

Focus on Youth, Women, and Elders

Accepting the new responsibility, Shamsher Singh Charak expressed his gratitude to the Chairman and outlined his primary objectives. His vision for the Sabha includes:

  • Youth Empowerment: Focusing on creating and facilitating employment opportunities for young Rajputs.

  • Women’s Dignity: Ensuring respect, safety, and a stronger voice for women within society.

  • Welfare of Elders: Dedicated efforts to address the needs and interests of the community’s senior members.

  • Problem Resolution: Working “body and soul” to resolve the various challenges currently facing the Rajput community.

Honoring ‘Matrushakti’ on Women’s Day

As the event coincided with International Women’s Day, the newly appointed Working President honored politician Shikha Bandral with a turban, recognizing her as a symbol of ‘Matrushakti’ (Mother Power).

The program commenced with a warm welcome by renowned cartoonist Chandrashekhar. The ceremony saw the participation of several prominent figures, including Sandeep Singh Manhas, Tarun Singh Jamwal, Ambika Manhas, Prerna Nanda, Babu Hussain Malik, Rahul Chaddha, Sindhu Jyoti Sharma, and Nitin Rana, among others.
