Jammu, May 5:
In a major breakthrough under the ongoing state-wide Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, the Reasi Police have apprehended a drug peddler and recovered 4.04 grams of heroin from his possession.
The operation, carried out under the direct supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Reasi, Sh. Mukund Tibrewal, IPS, is being hailed as another major blow to the local narcotics network.
The Arrest and Recovery
According to official sources, a patrolling party from the Reasi Police Station was on routine duty when they intercepted a suspicious-looking individual.
Upon stopping the suspect for questioning and conducting a thorough search, police officers recovered approximately 4.04 grams of heroin-like contraband substance from his possession.

Legal Action Initiated
Following the recovery, the police immediately seized the contraband and took the accused into custody.
Case Details: A formal case has been registered at the Reasi Police Station under FIR No. 81/2026. The accused has been booked under Sections 8, 21, and 22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. A detailed investigation has been initiated to trace both the source and the intended recipients of the seized consignment.
