Congress-NC Coalition Poised for Landslide Victory in J&K: Solanki

JAMMU, SEPT 26: Senior Congress leader and All India Congress Committee (AICC) incharge for Jammu & Kashmir, Bharatsinh Solanki, expressed confidence today that the Congress-National Conference (NC) coalition is set to achieve a landslide victory in the upcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing a press conference, Solanki emphasized that the coalition is surpassing other parties in popularity, particularly the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which he described as desperate.

Solanki claimed that the BJP’s senior leaders, including the Prime Minister, Home Minister, Defence Minister, and UP Chief Minister, have been deployed in the region to cling to power. “This desperation arises from the BJP’s awareness of their diminishing support in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

He alleged that the BJP harbors a hidden agenda, including exploiting the natural resources of J&K and allowing large corporations to benefit at the state’s expense. “This has raised concerns among the citizens of J&K, who will not tolerate any compromise on the state’s sovereignty and economic well-being,” Solanki added. He further asserted that the people of the region will not be swayed by the BJP’s tactics and are ready to teach the saffron party a lesson for their governance over the last decade.

In the lead-up to the elections, Solanki announced that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will address two rallies on September 27. Additionally, Priyanka Gandhi, a prominent Congress figure, will address rallies on September 28. “The people of J&K will decide their own future and reject the BJP’s deceitful tactics,” Solanki emphasized.

Solanki accused the BJP of betraying the people of Jammu and Kashmir and failing to fulfill the promises made during the 2014 elections. “On what grounds do they now seek votes from the people? BJP has reneged on its 2014 promises,” he said. Solanki raised several questions about the BJP’s governance in J&K, including:

  • What has BJP delivered to J&K since the Parliament elections?
  • What additional packages have they provided for the region?
  • Why have they failed to respond to the chargesheet presented by Congress?

Solanki reaffirmed the unity between Congress and NC, stating that both parties are committed to serving the interests of Jammu and Kashmir. “Congress leader Rahul Gandhi remains dedicated to protecting the wishes and aspirations of the people of J&K,” he said, adding that the coalition will focus on the state’s emotional integration and economic empowerment.

Solanki also condemned a recent statement by BJP Lok Sabha member Kangna Ranout, who demanded the implementation of the three farm laws previously repealed by the government. “This statement exposes the BJP’s anti-farmers mindset and their disregard for the welfare of J&K’s agricultural sector,” he remarked.

The Congress leader criticized the BJP’s silence on the Darbar Move issue, a tradition that promotes both emotional integration and economic empowerment in the state. “Their silence is deafening, and we demand answers,” Solanki said.
