JAMMU, FEB 25: Jammu and Kashmir BJP President Sat Sharma (CA) has stated that the people of Kashmir are inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s peace initiatives, development efforts, and focus on stability in the region. He made these remarks while welcoming Mohammed Ashraf Palpori into the BJP during a formal event attended by senior party leaders.
As per the statement issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, Sat Sharma, along with BJP General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul, former minister Priya Sethi, party spokesperson Altaf Thakur, BJYM President Arun Prabhat Singh, senior leader CA Rajeev Gupta, and others, greeted Palpori into the party fold. Mohammed Ashraf Palpori, a notable political figure from Kashmir, previously served as the Youth Wing General Secretary of the Apni Party and has been a Corporator in the Srinagar Municipal Corporation. He also contested assembly elections from the Eidgah constituency.
Highlighting the achievements under PM Modi’s leadership, Sat Sharma said, “The Union Government has made significant strides in ensuring security and fostering development in Kashmir. There has been a remarkable decline in violence, with incidents of terrorism dropping drastically, creating a safer environment for the people.”
Sharma also emphasized the revival of Kashmir’s tourism sector, stating, “Kashmir is witnessing a surge in tourist arrivals, a testament to the peace restored in the region. Tourism, once hampered by instability, is now flourishing, contributing immensely to the local economy. Infrastructure developments, including new roads, railway projects, and enhanced connectivity, have further boosted accessibility.”
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Koul remarked that the past narratives around Kashmir have shifted. “Today, there is a prevailing sense of security among the people. The outcomes of PM Modi’s peace initiatives are visible, and the people of Kashmir are acknowledging these positive changes,” he said. He also highlighted international events like the G-20 Summit in Srinagar, which showcased Kashmir’s potential on a global platform and reinforced the message of peace and progress.
Expressing his views after joining the BJP, Mohammed Ashraf Palpori said, “I am convinced that Kashmir has the potential to progress and prosper, provided peace and normalcy prevail. The Modi government has done commendable work in this direction. The days of fear, insecurity, and terror are behind us, and a brighter future awaits Kashmir.”
