Jammu, Feb 2:
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) launched a massive anti-terror operation early Monday morning, conducting simultaneous raids at multiple locations across the Kashmir Valley. The crackdown is part of an intensifying investigation into terror-related activities and the illicit funding networks supporting them.
Simultaneous Searches in Key Districts
According to official sources, the federal agency began its searches at the crack of dawn, focusing on residential and commercial premises in three major areas: Srinagar, Sopore and Bandipora.
NIA teams were reportedly assisted by the Jammu & Kashmir Police and paramilitary forces to ensure the security of the perimeter during the searches.
Focus on Terror Financing
An official confirmed that the raids are specifically targeted at individuals suspected of involvement in terror financing and providing logistical support to extremist networks operating within the Union Territory.
“The raids are part of a wider crackdown on terror financing and support networks operating in the Valley,” an official told reporters.
Ongoing Investigation
While the NIA has not yet released a list of seized materials, sources indicate that digital devices, financial documents, and incriminating records are often the primary focus of such searches to establish links between local operatives and cross-border handlers.
This operation comes amid a period of heightened vigilance in the region as the administration seeks to dismantle the “ecosystem” of terror.
