Jammu, Dec 29:

Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha on Monday hosted a group of IAS Officer Trainees of the 2025 Batch at Raj Bhawan, Jammu. The interaction was part of the trainees’ five-day visit to the Union Territory under the Winter Study Tour (Bharat Darshan Programme), an essential component of their Phase-1 training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie.

During the session, LG Manoj Sinha provided the young officers with deep insights into the evolving landscape of public service and effective governance. He emphasized the importance of high morals, integrity, and a people-centric approach in civil service.

The Lieutenant Governor took the opportunity to highlight the radical shifts Jammu and Kashmir has experienced across multiple sectors—ranging from digital governance and infrastructure development to peace-building and economic inclusivity.

“Civil servants are the backbone of our administrative structure. Your goal must be to reach the last person in the queue and ensure that development is not just a statistic, but a lived reality for every citizen,” the Lieutenant Governor remarked.

The group of trainees represents a wide cross-section of India, including: Haryana Cadre: Ms. Muskan Srivastava, West Bengal Cadre: Ms. Meghna Chakravorty, Ms. Mudita Bansal, AGMUT Cadre: Shri Deepak Godara, Ms. Vidhi (Associate Group Leader), Tamil Nadu Cadre: Shri Saichaitanya Jadhav, Shri Rahul Raghavan, Shri Aman Tiwari, Andhra Pradesh Cadre: Shri Venkatesh Banna and  Rajasthan Cadre: Shri Umesh Kumar Meena (Group Leader).

The interaction was also attended by Dr. Rakesh Minhas, Deputy Commissioner Jammu.

The five-day itinerary for the officer trainees is designed to provide a comprehensive view of the region’s administrative and cultural complexities. Key highlights of their tour include: A visit to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, Inspection of the Salal Hydroelectric Power Project, A tour of the Bari Brahmana SIDCO Industrial Area, A visit to the India-Pakistan international border and A curated city tour of Jammu’s historical and cultural sites.

The Bharat Darshan programme aims to sensitize future administrators to the diverse challenges and opportunities across India. By providing first-hand exposure to J&K’s unique governance model—which has shifted from uncertainty to stability over the last few years—the visit equips these officers with practical knowledge for their future roles in building a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India).
