In a proud moment for the Union Territory, Dr. Mohan Lal Dogra, a legendary figure in the field of performing arts and social activism, has been officially conferred with the prestigious “UN Book of World Records-2026.” The honour recognizes his monumental 60-year journey dedicated to the revival of Indian folk theatre, music, and the upliftment of the underprivileged.
A Legendary Career in Arts and Education
Dr. Dogra, the former Regional Director of the Song and Drama Division (Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India) and current Chairman of the Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS), was recognized for his multifaceted contributions as a Director, Lyricist, Singer, and Social Activist.
The award was highly lauded by Prof. Buhari Isah (International Co-ordinator) and Dr. Avinash D. Sakunde (CEO/International President, UN Book of World Records), who noted Dr. Dogra’s role in creating a global platform for innovation in Indian folk traditions.
