Srinagar, Jan 14:

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) officially announced the results for the Class 10 Annual Regular (Winter Zone) examinations on Wednesday, January 14. The academic session witnessed a strong performance with an overall pass percentage of 84.04%.

The results follow a unique academic year where students were granted a 15% syllabus relaxation due to various climate-induced disruptions and a delayed start to the session.

Result Highlights at a Glance

The board reported that over 94,000 students appeared for the examinations which commenced on November 3, 2025.

Overall Pass Percentage: 84.04%, Total Students Appeared: 94,783, Total Examination Centres: 994 and Syllabus Relaxation Granted: 15%.

The examinations were conducted across the Kashmir division, winter zone areas of Jammu, and the UT of Ladakh.

  • Kashmir Division: 68,804 students across 10 districts.

  • Jammu (Winter Zone): 25,224 students across 8 districts.

  • Kargil District: 660 students.

  • Leh District: 95 students.

The Director of Academics for BOSE clarified that the decision to allow students to attempt only 85% of the marks (which would then be scaled to 100%) was a response to several challenges:

  • Delayed Academic Start: A shift in the academic calendar leading to a shorter instructional window.

  • Extreme Weather: Disruptions caused by intense heatwaves followed by torrential rains and floods.

  • Stakeholder Requests: Recommendations from the Directorates of School Education (DSEK and DSEJ) to ensure student well-being.

Statement from Board Officials

“The results reflect the resilience of our students who faced significant environmental challenges this year. The 15% relaxation was a necessary step to level the playing field for those impacted by the disrupted academic calendar.” — JKBOSE Official
