JAMMU, NOV 29: Jammu and Kashmir General Administration Department issued a significant order on Friday, reconstituting the Screening Committee and Apex Level Selection Committee for the grant of Jammu and Kashmir Government Awards on Republic Day.
As per Government Order No. 2001-JK(GAD) of 2024, the copy of which lies with The Newsroom 24 – Awaz reads that the committees will oversee the selection of individuals and organizations for the prestigious awards. The order supersedes all previous directives on the subject.
Screening Committee
The Screening Committee, tasked with evaluating nominations, comprises the following members:
1. Financial Commissioner, Revenue,
2. Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, GAD.
3. Additional Director General of Police, CID.
4. One Senior Administrative Secretary, to be nominated by the Chief Secretary.
Apex Level Selection Committee
The Apex Level Selection Committee, which makes the final recommendations, includes:
1. Deputy Chief Minister
2. Leader of the Opposition in the J&K Legislative Assembly
3. Chief Secretary, J&K
4. One eminent person to be nominated by the Chief Minister
