Jammu, May 25:
In a major breakthrough, the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) Team of the Headquarters Zone Jammu has successfully traced and recovered 33 missing smartphones valued at approximately ₹6 lakhs.
The recovered devices were officially handed over to their rightful owners during a special program held at the District Police Lines (DPL) Jammu, under the direct supervision of the Superintendent of Police (SP) Headquarters Jammu.
A Long Wait Ends for Citizens
The recovery brings immense relief to numerous complainants across different areas of the region. Remarkably, some of the recovered mobile phones had been missing for nearly four years.
Officials stated that the breakthrough was achieved through sustained technical surveillance, advanced tracking methods, and meticulous follow-up by the dedicated CCTNS cyber experts.
SP Urges Public to Maintain ‘Cyber Hygiene’
While distributing the mobile phones back to their ecstatic owners, SP Headquarters Jammu congratulated the tracking team and issued an important advisory to the general public.
The SP urged citizens to adopt strict cyber hygiene practices and remain highly cautious while navigating digital platforms.
“Maintaining cyber awareness is crucial to preventing the loss of valuable personal data and ensuring that your private information is not misused by malicious actors,” the SP stated.

The Jammu Police reiterated its ongoing commitment to public safety and property recovery. Officials emphasized that alongside active criminal investigations, the department will continue to intensify its efforts to trace missing property and conduct cyber awareness campaigns to empower citizens in the digital age.
