To mark International Museum Day, the Jammu Chapter of the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) organized a special educational and cultural visit for the students of Sainik School Nagrota to the iconic Dogra Art Museum in Jammu.

The initiative aligns with the global 2026 theme, “Museums Uniting a Divided World,” which highlights the pivotal role these cultural repositories play in fostering dialogue, empathy, and mutual understanding across diverse communities.

Unlocking the Vaults of Dogra History

The educational tour was designed to provide the young cadets with a hands-on learning experience outside the classroom, transforming history from textbook pages into a living reality.

  • Expert Guidance: The program was spearheaded and supervised by INTACH Additional Co-Convenor, Dr. Satwant Singh Rissam, who guided the students through the curated itinerary.

  • Curator’s Insight: The Museum’s Curator, Mukul Magotra, personally apprised the visiting students of the deep historical significance of the institution. He walked them through the rare collections, offering deep insights into the rich artistic and cultural legacy preserved within the monument.

  • Academic Support: The students were accompanied by their Art and Craft teacher, Ms. Mehdhavi, adding a valuable academic dimension to the interactive tour.
